(Tentative)
The indoor plant arrangement at the research studio of (Tentative), which explores new ecosystems to promote the co-evolution of humanity and Earth, is designed to foster a way of seeing and imagining the landscapes where their development projects were conducted. This is achieved by transplanting native vegetation from these sites and representing it at a life-sized scale.
To envision the potential landscapes that may arise there and cultivate the ability to observe them, we conducted planter-based planting by focusing on environmental characteristics such as forest edges and forest floors, taking into account plant species, population, and density.
The site showcases a diversity of plants, even within the same species, which adapt and thrive by altering their forms. Although these plant communities may appear similar, closer observation uncovers differences. This tentative space, crafted to capture the subtleties of a vast and mature ecosystem, presents these characteristics at life-size, thereby cultivating imagination and offering new perspectives.
“What kind of landscapes might emerge in such an environment?”
